Xen VPS Highlights

Xen VPS' are completely independent from the hardware node, and each other. This means that you are able to run updates independently of the hardware node. This also means that one customer can't crash a service or the server. If one front end server ceases to work, the VPS' that were running on that server can be restarted on other Xen servers, almost instantly. The Backend Servers use Open Solaris ZFS file system, which provides for real-time file systems checks and instant automatic snapshots of your data. In the event of a VPS experiencing an issue, we can restore from a snapshot up to 3 days prior. In the event of backend failure, we will have Backups stored off server via Amanda Backup, which can be restored very quickly.

More Verbose

The Xen VPS' have a dedicated amount of ram assigned to them. Once assigned, it cannot be used by any other VPS, or the Xen controller. Each VPS has access to its own private swap, to provide a little safety net in the event the VPS runs out of memory for a short time. 4.7Million Inodes (on a 20GB drive) is a considerable increase over the current limit on VPS, and allows for you to have more files. Since the VPS' are independent of one another, you can install and use a wider range of applications, including Java (JSP) and MS SQL (for windows only) and not affect the stability of the hardware node or other clients.

Trouble Free Upgrades (within Xen)

The Xen VPS' can be upgraded for CPU (Up to 4 cores), Memory (Up to 2GB), Hard Drive (Up to 40GB) and Bandwidth. Upgrading with the Xen VPS only requires we change the values for the VPS, and restart. (With the exception of hard drive space. Another Virtual Hard drive will need to be added, but can be done very quickly.) No migration is needed for upgrading as long as you stays on Xen.
